2008 was a really fem-French year for me.
Yelle, Yael Naim and Soko.
We. We. and double We.

Ah Soko. I discovered Soko during one of my epic MySpace Music binges in which I find myself clicking on an artists' top friend's top artists' friend's artist's....... I basically did that until I found myself in France and on Soko's page. I was blown away by her style, her lyrics and her simplicity. All the same, I was saddened to discover that she didn't have a record out yet.

Well, God bless Japan, because I've managed to download her tour EP, Sokute, and it's dope. Mad dope, yo. With songs like, "My Wet Dreams," "Dandy Cowboys," and, "I'll Kill Her," you really can't help but fall in love with the squeaky, angsty, Ukulele playing Soko.
