Meetup.com is about the most amazing thing ever. I found this site in the states surrounding the 2004 election. I didn't bother to actually go to any political round-tables, but I thought it made me cool to almost go every week.
I rediscovered this online miracle thanks to Google, and the key (I'll even go so far as to say, genius) word search: "Improv and Tokyo." That search brought me to, "The Tokyo Comedy Store Improv Workshop" meet-up group. TCS holds weekly, pay-to-play rehearsal jams, and next week I'm going to bring them some DC flavor.
I. Am. Stoked.
Granted, I've never paid $20 bucks to play a rousing game of "Arms Through Expert," but I'm desperate.... and, it just might be fun. And who knows, this may be some sort of vetting process to suss out new recruits for an elite task force of Improv Ninjas.
