C'mon
Around 5PM yesterday the AP reported that FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) staged a FAKE news conference where the deputy director answered questions from agency employees posing as reporters regarding the California wildfires. (Somehow I don't think FOX News was innocent in deceiving us, but I always feel that way).
What the eff?
What's next? Will FEMA do a press conference with cardboard cut outs of Katrina victims with talking bubbles taped to them that say, "It's all better now," and "FEMA should stand for Federal Emergency MIRACLE Agency"? I realized a long time ago that when dealing with the news (in all its forms), I would have to play the role of detective - searching for any remaining traces of truth, integrity and bipartisanism. But this is a new low.
As a Washingtonian I live, work and play in the home of all the muck and mire of American politics. As a result you'd think that I would be able to stomach just about anything (we had Marion Barry as Mayor for crying out loud). But after reading about this, I nearly hurled.
Ew.
